Well then I will be horribly honest and admit that I borrowed it from the cartoonist Wallace Tripp, but it's none the worse for that.

Well time is the enemy of us all, of course. Time flies like an arrow, as the man said.

Fruit flies, on the other hand, like a banana.

I almost came along but unfortunately the fruit flies I work with were demanding I return. I suspect I will notice many parallels between the relationships in your books and my own work (I hope my flies stay small though).
I really enjoyed the literature panels and will be keeping an eye out for other events in the London area.

Thanks for that Neil - you'd have been more than welcome at the Klatch - if another opportunity arises, please come along. I hope you enjoy the books, anyway, and perhaps see you at some similar piece of business in the future.

I attended the heroic fantasy panel this morning and really enjoyed some of your comments. I particularly agree with your wish to see more "change" within fantasy. Anyway, you got my attention and I've since seen some very positive reviews of your work. I'm going to check out your series and see what I think. I'd come along to the Klatch but feel I should probably leave a space for folk who've read your work.
Thanks.

Presumably the quality of the anecdote varies proportionally to the quantity of the drinks. Or, as it's coffee, perhaps it's just the shakiness and speed of delivery that varies.

Coffeeklatch

I went to one of these at the 1990 WorldCon in The Hague. It boils down (sorry, bad pun) to you sitting around with a bunch of your fans. They buy you drinks and you entertain their questions, and treat them to tales and anecdotes. Seem-pelz.
