I'm afraid that I can't give any date for US versions of Sea Watch or onwards. The best I can recommend is to get hold of the UK editions at this stage. It's something that we're looking into however.

Hey, don't know if you remember me. But Been really busy and such. I've actually gotten into writing short stories and such. I still haven't been able to get a book past the Scarab path, and well. I really want to keep reading the series of my favorite author, it's just they take so long to get published in the U.S. So too me this is really really irritating.

No plans for hardcover as yet. I'm always reminded of a David Langford review (of what I can't recall) way back when White Dwarf hosted his column, when a book previously in paperback was re-released in HB. "...for those people who thought the original wasn't expensive enough."

Hi Adrian,

The Apt world is a fascinating and ingenious backdrop in which complex and well crafted characters really make the reader care about them.
It is an exceptional series (this from an avid reader of fantasy) and so I wondered if there was any prospect of the books being produced in hard cover bindings?
Many less well written books appear in hardback and your series certainly deserves to be available in a premium format.

Hi Adrian,

Just finished Scarab Path. Happy to read the book focused on 3 of my fav characters: Che, Thalric, & (nice surprising return) Totho. I'm all for anything you write for this series, just hope that you'll let those 3 stay alive until the end [smile], & hopefully with happy end too. Just 2 question though, will those 3 still will be prominent characters in the remaining 5 books? And how about Totho's feeling for Che, is he really giving up her totally this time like Che had guessed... or not? I still have soft spot for their relationship even until now, despite all odds that had happened & how small the chance of them together.

Dear Adrian

Thank you for the update.

It occurred to me today, watching an advert, that there must be/could be Ladybird Kinden in the Apt world. If so, what would their Art be? Would they be sort of reddish skinned with black markings, or the reverse?

I was also pondering what 'Fir' did for the Slug Kinden magicians; it made other people able to 'see' things - was it the vector for the Slug Kinden's magic? Would a Slug Kinden who didn't or couldn't produce Fir be unable to use magic? Their version of Inapt perhaps?

It is also so good to see a fellow local government lawyer doing so well! It makes my heart glad it really does.

Reply @ Gladiatrix

I don't think there's a Sea Watch excerpt released yet, although in all honesty it's not the sort of thing I generally know.

I was wondering whether someone would spot the title issue :). Book 7's working title was "Broken Threads" and, if the working title for book 5 didn't pass muster, then Broken Threads won't either. Hence I'm currently brainstorming a new title with Simon Kavanagh, my agent. However, I figure "The Air War" has sufficient punch to make the grade.
