I want the Adrian Tchaikovsky to get as much of my money as possible when I buy Cage of Souls. Where is the best place to buy that gives the author the biggest cut?

I don't think it makes a huge amount of difference. I like buying from independent bookshops or websites that support them, just to spread the love a bit.

I liked Children of Time in part because of its feminist play on gender role reversal. I did a similar thing is a short story that may eventually form part of a novel (titled Don’t Look Back) about a far future where humanity is long extinct and intelligent insect life has arisen. A male palaeontologist attracts ridicule and eventual career ruin (an emotional male in a female job) for claiming to have found evidence that skeletal beings may have been intelligent. I am not sure that he was right.
