First of all, and to avoid all doubt, as at the moment of writing this there is no film biz going on with this book! This is just me having fun with a spurious dream casting for some of the characters for the book. Photos are all from imdb. Obviously this is also all just my picks as of today, and tomorrow they might all be different. If you have your own favourites feel free to disagree and propose your own if you like.
I guffawed at Matt LeBlanc as Rollo. I am only a 1/3 through the book and I am pretty sure I am stuck seeing him as Rollo in my head now.
Would be great to see an actual differently-abled actress as Olli. An unknown.

Idris needs to be young and not very physical — not sure if I can think of an ideal person for that role.
I like Ken Watanabe as Havaer. Kind of needs someone who can effect a world-weary mood. Idris Elba would fit as well.
Great book. I have been casting the movie version as I read it as well. I was hoping for Gina Carano to play Solace.

good casting, after watching the Expanse Cara Gee is an obvious choice as a space warrior amazon, though i would cast Sigourney Weaver as her superior. Edward James Olmos or Willem Dafoe with a big mustache would both make great Rollos. I imagined Havaer more as a lanky guy, like Jeff Goldblum or Thomas Jane and Meryl Strep as Leary. Noomi Rapace would play a great Olli. Mesmon should be menacing from the get go, so Joseph Gatt! Gina Torres as Kris, she has experience as an actor in space operas and as a lawyer! Idris would be difficult as a protagonist wthout any classical hero traits, Danny Pudi maybe? By the way, great book, already exited about the sequel, and it definitely should get picked up for the screen! Thank you for your prolific and always enjoyable work.
