Other Worlds, November 6th, Derby
I't s been a while since I last posted, and this is because the final proofs for Sea Watch have turned up, and this last stage of the publication process that I get involved in is intensive, time-consuming and conducted to a strict deadline. The draft I had of book 7 is also back in the shop, propped up on bricks while I take it apart, following a going over by my agent. It's one of those situations: in your heart of hearts you know it isn't running properly, but the pride you have, having built it yourself, blinds you to it. You need an objective viewpoint sometimes.
Anyway, I do need to say that I will be Doing Things in Derby on the 6th November as part of Tor/Alt Fiction's Other Worlds shenanigans, and I therefore and herewith provide you with the details. Other guests include Peter F Hamilton, Tony Ballantyne and Mark Charan-Newton so, frankly, if I wasn't on the guest list I'd be hotfooting it over as a fan.

I saw your comments about finishing Sea Watch, good luck with that — keep perservering there are a whole bunch of us waiting :>
Interestingly, today the cover page of wikipedia had an article on Stoneflies, which apparently includes the only known insect that is completely aquatic from birth to death … which leads me to wonder what lurks under the water and whether they would be apt or not …
